1. Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect information such as your first and last name, username, email address, password hash, and any address, city, country, phone number, profile image, or social links you choose to provide.
When you play, we record quiz attempts, questions presented, selected answers, correct answers, points, completion time, account or guest-session association, and the data needed to prevent recently answered questions from repeating.
Our systems may also process technical information such as IP address, browser type, device characteristics, timestamps, requested pages, session identifiers, security events, and diagnostic logs.
2. How we use information
- Provide accounts, quiz rounds, scoring, results, levels, and leaderboards.
- Prevent a registered player from receiving recently answered questions for ten days.
- Secure accounts, investigate abuse, enforce fair-play rules, and prevent fraud.
- Respond to support requests and service communications.
- Monitor reliability, diagnose errors, and improve performance and usability.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect users, QuizRush, and third parties.
3. Public leaderboard information
The leaderboard is a public part of QuizRush. For ranked players it may display name, username, address or location, points, rank, and level. Do not add location or profile information you do not want presented publicly. Contact us if you need help correcting or removing optional public profile information.
4. Legal bases and consent
Depending on your location, we process information to perform our agreement with you, operate our legitimate interests in providing and securing the service, comply with law, and obtain consent where consent is required.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared with hosting, security, email, analytics, and technical service providers that process it on our behalf; with authorities when legally required; or as part of a business reorganization subject to appropriate safeguards.
6. Retention
Account and scoring records are retained while needed to provide the account and preserve legitimate leaderboard history. Recent-answer records are used for the ten-day repeat-protection feature, although attempt records may be retained longer for scoring integrity, security, dispute resolution, and legal requirements. Guest session data is retained only as reasonably needed for operation and abuse prevention.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including password hashing, request validation, access controls, and session protections. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so use a strong unique password and report suspected compromise promptly.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection regarding your personal information. Some records may be retained where required for security, legal compliance, or legitimate dispute resolution. You can also control optional profile details from your account where those controls are available.
9. Children
QuizRush is not directed to children who cannot legally consent to data processing in their jurisdiction. A parent or guardian should contact us if they believe a child submitted personal information without appropriate permission.
